China’s Solar panel farm on top of Mount Taihang

Solar panel farm in Mount Taihang, China

To make use of large mountainous areas and promote clean energy, large-scale photovoltaic solar panels have been installed on the Taihang Mountains in Shexian county, North China’s Hebei province.

Photovoltaic systems, which convert light into electricity, are expected to have an installed capacity of 321 megawatts per year. Approximately 78 percent of the system has connected to the national power grid.

It is expected to reduce 251,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year, according to the county’s publicity department.
